Character association and path analysis for yield and Yeild contributing traits in greengram [Vigna radiata (L.) Wilczek]

Greengram (Vigna radiata (L.) Wilczek) 2n= 2x = 22 is cultivated on a large scale in several parts of the world which third most valuable pulse crop. Pulses are primary resource protein to meet up nutritional requirement world. The important objective any crop improvement programme increase seed yield through development high yielding varieties with resistance pest and diseases. Thus during course Rabi 2021-2022, an experiment was put determine correlation path analysis between its components Greengram. A total 189 F3 progenies derived from cross VBN2 x V2802BG along parents checks were utilized for study observed nine quantitative characters viz., days 50% flowering, plant height (cm), number branches per plant, clusters pods pod length seeds pod, 100 weight (g) (g). results illustrated that (0.969), (0.828), (0.570) witnessed positive coefficient highly significant. Pods followed by expressed highest direct effect disclosed analysis. while designing breeding strategy foremost significance has be given these attributes enhance greengram.
